Laser hair removal works by heating up the follicle to damage and inhibit further growth. It works best on darker, coarser hair, and all skin types, Fitzpatrick I-VI, can safely be treated with Diode technology. Multiple sessions, 4-6 weeks apart, are necessary as the laser can only target the hair in its growth phase (anagen), when the follicle is connected to the blood supply. The number of initial sessions and maintenance sessions depend on the area being treated, along with other contributing factors. 

The area treated will need to be freshly shaved, with hair present in the follicles, not waxed or tweezed. Sun exposure will need to be avoided before and after treatment, and a sunblock of 30 spf or greater is required after treatment. A preparation and post care instructions sheet will be given to you at first appointment or consultation.
